March 2020 - Present - Strategic Advisor - Machine Cover Inc. - MachineCover.com - Machine Cover offers consumers and businesses financial parametric solutions for a variety of risk management situations. Machine Cover provides the end-to-end technology needed to offer parametric contracts into the insurance and near-insurance marketplaces.


December 2019 - December 2021 - Advisory Council Member - Council on Technology - Department of Insurance - State of Connecticut - member of an advisory council that "provides relevant and actionable suggestions to the Commissioner [and the insurance industry generally] in areas related to Insurtech and technology and the impact to Connecticut consumers and the industry."


November 2016 - November 2019 (Term Limit - 3 Years) — Casualty Actuarial Society - Board of Directors — Appointed At-Large member of the Global Board of Directors for the premier professional association for property/casualty actuaries certified with the ACAS and FCAS actuarial credentials and the iCAS analytics credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society.  The purpose of the Casualty Actuarial Society is: (1) to advance the body of knowledge of actuarial science applied to general insurance, including property, casualty and similar risk exposures; (2) to expand the application of actuarial science and analytics to enterprise and systemic risks; (3) to increase the awareness of actuarial science and analytics; (4) to establish and maintain standards of qualification for membership; (5) to promote and maintain high standards of conduct and competence; (6) and, to contribute to the well being of society as a whole.

August 2014 - November 2019 (Term Limit Expired) — Casualty Actuarial Society — Innovation Council Committee Member — Member of the CAS Innovation Council which oversees the integration of an innovation process into the culture and operations of the CAS, steers the development and prototyping of innovative projects and evangelizes the value of innovation and analytics.


September 2012 - April 2019 — World Affairs Council of Connecticut - Board of Directors — http://www.ctwac.org - The World Affairs Council of Connecticut is a non-profit, non partisan educational organization whose mission is to create informed public opinion on global matters. Established in 1924, the Council serves the greater Hartford area to develop awareness of peoples, cultures, and governments around the world. It achieves its mission through public programs and education programs. As a member of the World Affairs Councils of America, the World Affairs Council of Connecticut is part of the largest international affairs nonprofit in the United States. The World Affairs Council's public programs bring high profile speakers and well-respected authors and scholars to the Hartford area. It counts among its accomplishments a dynamic Executive Forum series that has featured a rich array of speakers. The WAC's Model United Nations program also provides an international education experience for some 500 students representing 31 high schools (founded in 1949, making it the third oldest Model UN program in the country).

Volunteerism

January 2015 - Present — Solid Rock International — Mission Co-Leader (2020, 2021) & Medical Mission Volunteer — Serve with a group of 45-50 medical and non-medical professionals (surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, EMT's, consultants) from around the United States on an annual one week mission to provide surgical, primary care, general medical services, and preventative dentistry to people in need in the Dominican Republic.


April 2018 - Present — Entrepreneurship Advisor - collaborating  with local aspiring Dominican entrepreneurs to start their own businesses. The first business focus is on plastic reclamation and the conversion and manufacturing of plastic waste into solid construction blocks for outbuildings, barns, sheds, and small residences.


September 2012 - September 2019 — Eagle Scout Advisor - Matianuck District Advancement Committee — Boy Scouts of America - Connecticut Rivers Council Responsible for assisting 10 boy scout troops in 5 towns with their scouts' Eagle Scout leadership project proposals and execution. Review and approve Eagle Scout project documents, final application paperwork, and facilitate final approval from the local Scout Council. Represent the Matianuck District for Eagle Scout Boards of Review where Eagle Scout candidates present their credentials for final approval.
